My quick fixes to a vintage 👗

I found this dress and left it because it wasn’t in the best of conditions. It remained on my mind all night so flew there the next morning, first one through the door, hoping the dress gawds were on my team!

This dress from Beyond Retro had beads falling off, faulty fastenings and just one shoulder pad.

This is how it looked before:

I brought flowers from a local haberdashery in the market. Shoulder pads from John Lewis and hook fastenings, which I already had in my stash, from my other local haberdashery.

With the wealth of sewing videos available on the internet don’t let a few mishaps with a vintage or thrift store item stop you if you love it!

I used the remaining flowers for the coat sleeves and my shoes!

I love to refashion/ upcycle clothing. It’s a sustainable way of loving our clothes, preventing fashion waste and being unique!

Bonus: when the dress is a great price to begin with!
